Product Introduction

 

Silicon-Barium-Calcium Flux-Cored Wire is a commonly used metallurgical material in steelmaking and casting. It is manufactured by encasing silicon-barium-calcium alloy powder within cold-rolled low-carbon steel strip to form a wire-shaped product. Its outer layer consists of low-carbon steel sheath, primarily serving to protect the core powder and ensure precise feeding. The inner layer comprises silicon-barium-calcium alloy powder, which constitutes the core functional component.

 

Primary Components

 

Si (Silicon) 40%–60%, primary deoxidizing element
Ba (Barium) 5%–15%, performance enhancer, stabilizes calcium and improves yield
Ca (Calcium) 5%–15%, strong deoxidizing and desulfurizing agent
Al (Aluminum) Trace amounts (1%–3%), auxiliary deoxidizer

Usage Method

Timing

During tapping, in the ladle furnace (LF), or before continuous casting

Application

Use the wire feeder to rapidly insert the cored wire straight into the molten steel, ensuring it sinks deep and does not float on the surface.

Post-Addition

Gently stir with soft argon gas to facilitate full reaction and impurity flotation.

Purpose

Deoxidize, desulfurize, purify molten steel, and prevent nozzle blockage.
