Calcium-silicon alloy is a binary alloy of silicon and calcium, smelted from silica, lime, and coke at a high temperature of 1500-1800℃. Its main components are silicon and calcium, with impurities such as iron and aluminum. In the steel industry, this alloy is used as a deoxidizer and desulfurizer, and in the cast iron industry as an inoculant. Its deoxidation products are easily removed, improving steel properties. Production processes include the electrocarbothermic process, the electrosilicon thermoelectric process, and the electrolytic process. The layered feeding method, through step-by-step smelting, can increase the calcium recovery rate to 55%-75% and extend the smelting cycle to more than one year.
